Developed jointly with UNICEF India, these National MHM Guidelines aim to support adolescent girls in providing basic factual information about menstruation, its hygienic management and also clarifies some of the myths and taboos centered in this issue, so that schools can become more menstrual hygiene management (MHM)-friendly. MHM is an integral part of the Swachh Bharat Mission Guidelines (SBM-G). The Menstrual Hygiene Management Guideline is issued by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation
to support all adolescent girls and women. It outlines what needs to be done by state governments, district administrations, engineers and technical experts in line departments; and school head teachers and
teachers.
